Volunteer at Knowle Park

Volunteer at Knowle Park

Volunteering at Knowle Park is a rewarding way to connect with nature, support our local community, and make a real difference to our beautiful park.

Whether you have an hour to spare occasionally or can come along every week, we would love to welcome you to our volunteer team.

What Our Volunteers Do

Our volunteers take on a wide range of activities all year round. Tasks include:

-General grounds maintenance (such as litter picking, weeding, pruning, and tidying)

-Ecology work (like planting, wildlife monitoring, guided walks, and hedge care)

-Supporting park events (helping with set-up, stewarding, and welcoming visitors)

We also hold occasional special volunteer days to tackle more significant projects, such as planting our new community orchard or creating new habitats for wildlife.

When and Where

We hold regular volunteer sessions at:

-9.30am on Tuesdays

-1pm on Saturdays

We meet by the Heartwork Coffee kiosk before heading into the park for around 90 minutes of practical work. Once we’re finished, we return for a well-deserved coffee and cake (optional, but highly recommended!).

All tools and instructions are provided, and each session is supervised by a trustee or the park manager.

We welcome volunteers of all abilities. If it’s your first session, just turn up and introduce yourself! We’re a friendly bunch!

Stay in Touch

After you’ve attended your first session, we’ll add you to our volunteer WhatsApp group. This keeps you up to date with tasks and reminders about upcoming sessions.

Why Volunteer at Knowle Park?

Connect with Nature: Spend time outdoors, learn about local wildlife, and help us protect it.

Stay Active: Volunteering is a healthy way to keep fit and enjoy fresh air.

Meet New People: Join a friendly community of local people who share an interest in preserving the park.

Make a Difference: Every contribution, no matter how small, helps keep Knowle Park a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy.

Ready to get involved? Simply come along to one of our volunteer sessions or get in touch via email for more details. We look forward to welcoming you to our volunteering family!

Corporate volunteer groups welcome

We warmly welcome corporate volunteer groups to join us at Knowle Park Trust, with prices starting at just £40 per person. This is a great way to encourage team building while making a positive impact on local ecology.

Activities often include caring for newly planted trees, clearing ditches, and other hands-on tasks that help maintain our beautiful surroundings.

As part of the package, each volunteer enjoys a cup of coffee, and there are plenty of lunch options available either on site or in the nearby High Street.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

We welcome Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteers to join our Saturday 1pm volunteering group for an hour each week. Please note that you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the start of your first session, so you can complete our volunteer induction form and agree to our code of conduct.

We do have a limit on the number of under 18 volunteers we can manage at any one time, so please get in touch first to confirm there is space available.
