Starting today, our consultants are carrying out an archaeological survey in the park. This involves ‘Archeological Evaluation by Trial Trenching’, and the work will last for around a week.
Their work involves the excavation of 13 trenches using a large tracked machine. Most trenches will be 50m long with some as deep as 10m, from which they will assess archaeological deposits.
The trenches will be backfilled on completion of their studies.
Please give our consultants plenty of space during this work and stick to the public footpath which runs through the middle of the parkland.
