Knowle Park Trust is pleased to introduce its free live music summer season in the park. The Knowle Park Summer Staycation continues at 3pm on Sunday, 18th August 2024, with a performance by the Sidewinder Big Band.
The Sidewinder Big Band has been performing to audiences for the last 15 years and have entertained at numerous venues across the South-East of England. Their Musical Director is John Sandford, a saxophone teacher based in Cranleigh.
The band plays a wide variety of music to suit any occasion ranging from the traditional big band sounds of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton and Duke Ellington to the more contemporary sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire and the Average White Band.
The band consists of 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones plus a rhythm section of bass guitar, electric guitar, drums and piano, plus vocalists Sarah Geary and Keith Murray.
The Knowle Park Summer Staycation is free to attend, and no tickets are required. Bring a picnic or enjoy a treat from one of our on-site concession stalls.
