Knowle Park lake drained ready for clay liner

13/03/2022 Posted by Knowle Park

The latest aerial progress photos from Knowle Park!

Our contractors have nearly finished draining the lake, pumping water through silt mats, bales of hay and into ditches before it finds its way back to Littlemead Brook.

The lake liner is due to arrive tomorrow. We’ve selected a Geosynthetic Clay Liner instead of plastic, which has ‘self-healing’ properties. Installation is scheduled to take around a fortnight, weather permitting.

Now that the heavy machinery is back on site, work has resumed on the amphitheatre, with the lower terrace nearly completed. We’re also in progress with burying the overhead power cables, and of course planting thousands of trees, hedge plants and shrubs around the park!
