We’re delighted to open Knowle Park this weekend.
Most of the site fencing was taken down on Friday before the car park and toilets were opened for the first time on Saturday morning.
We welcomed hundreds of visitors on Saturday and Sunday, with families and friends enjoying the space for the first time.
Heartwork Coffee and Moooh! Ice Cream are both joining us for their new locations in Knowle Park, with temporary generators in use until the permanent power supply is arranged shortly.
Thank you to everyone who visited this weekend and for your kind words.
We’re heartened to see so many responsible dog owners visit the park too. As a reminder, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times north of public footpath 393, i.e. around the lake, adventure playgrounds (dogs must not enter the playgrounds), and car park, and also in the paddocks around Littlemead Brook. This rule is a condition of entry to the park.
We insist on dogs being kept on a lead in these parts of the park to protect the ecology of the lake and river, and protect wildlife.
Many visitors have asked the team about volunteering opportunities in Knowle Park, and we’re currently working on a plan to make this possible. Watch this space for further news.
